What: Funny Garbage creates opening title sequence for theatrically released feature film, “Friday After Next” starring Ice Cube and Mike Epps.
Where: Movie theaters everywhere
When: September – November 2002
How did we do it?
- Based on an idea from Funny Garbage, the film’s director, Marcus Raboy, made a decision to create an animated title sequence which explores the themes of the movie; FG was tasked with conceiving, designing and animating the three minute opening title sequence in a record 5 weeks.
- Funny Garbage’s work was praised in The New York Times review of the film: “a good-size piece of its running time is consumed by a very cool animated credits sequence, filled with details like a “Hollyweed” sign up in the Hills” (11/22/02, Elvis Mitchell)
- Funny Garbage participated in the design and production of the DVD-release of the film, contributing the font and design elements to the DVD.
